He is the best XCO biker in history. He is the only one to have won two Olympic gold medals as well as five World Championships, and those are just two achievements from his long and successful sporting career. Now aged 37, he has decided to give back to mountain biking some of what the sport has given to him by creating his own team – Absolute Absalon. Far from taking it easy this year, he is ready to shine at the World Cup. To do so, he will compete in the Super Cup Massi to be organised as part of Sea Otter Europe. Losing is not an option for him.
The Frenchman is someone to watch at every competition he takes part in, and the Sea Otter Europe will be one of the last opportunities to see him in action in Spain. Witnessing a mountain bike legend riding in the incredible cycling atmosphere at this benchmark European festival will be an experience not to be missed.
Julien Absalon is a regular at the XC events in Catalonia, where he has competed regularly over the course of his sporting career. Not only that, he is a huge fan of the terrain offered by this region and especially the Girona area, where he has chosen to train on more than one occasion. This is why the biker has got involved in the Sea Otter Europe himself, and he invites everyone to come along because this event will be the epicentre of global MTB.
