As part of its evolution and consolidation as one of the leading cycling festivals in Europe, we are pleased to announce the incorporation of Shimano as title sponsor of the event. From this edition onwards, the festival will be officially renamed: Shimano Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Garmin.

This announcement marks the continuation of a strong relationship, based on trust and shared values. Shimano has been one of the main sponsors of the festival for the past three years as a Gold Sponsor, playing a key role in our recent evolution. Now, it takes a decisive step forward by becoming a Title Sponsor, further reinforcing its commitment to the project and joining this new stage of the festival from a position of leadership.

For Sea Otter Europe, this alliance is a fundamental step forward in our aim to establish ourselves as a key meeting point for the international cycling industry. We share a common vision with Shimano: a strong commitment to innovation, quality, sustainability and connection to a global community of cyclists.

With over a century of history, Shimano is one of the most recognised and influential brands in the cycling world. Its incorporation as Title Sponsor will bring a differential value to the festival, through its most advanced technological solutions, its active presence in all areas of the event and its direct link to the spirit of cycling.

“We are proud to be able to expand our partnership with Sea Otter. It brings together in a single festival three fundamental pillars for us: consumers, bike brands and specialized cycling stores. Being the main sponsor of Sea Otter is the logical move for us, as it allows us to be close to all of them, aligned with our mission: “To promote health and happiness through the enjoyment of nature and the world around us.” Claims Ricardo de la Rica, Managing Director Shimano Southern Europe.

“Shimano has participated in Sea Otter Europe for the past few years. Their step forward as naming sponsor is a mutual recognition of our shared work, and a clear sign of where we want to go from here: more internationalisation, more innovation and more community,” explained Albert Balcells, Director of Sea Otter Europe by Garmin.

The 2025 edition will mark a turning point in the festival’s trajectory. With Shimano and Garmin as main sponsors, we are entering a new phase with more ambition, more scope and a stronger offer for all audiences: from amateur to professional cyclists, from brands, media and distributors all over the world.

We reaffirm our commitment to the cycling community and to a vision for the future where collaboration, technology, sustainability and a passion for cycling continue to drive us forward.
