Sea Otter Europe goes ahead and starts the registration campaign. Limited registrations.
July 2, the festival knows that it is a good time to activate the registrations of the sports program, to share the excitement of pedaling again, of participating in all sports events, and of living a weekend in a benchmark festival. The organization is ready for the celebration of the event and to receive all visitors on September 25, 2020.
In fact, an interesting detail is that the registrations refund has been almost insignificant; an outstanding fact to affirm that there is desire and optimism to return to the festival on its new dates.

The program completely fills the schedule of the 3 days of the event. Three frantic days with a lot of sports tests: mountain bike in XCO and marathon mode, electric bikes, a road bike tour, two gravel tests, a thrilling Eliminator, the legendary classic bike race, mini DH… Plenty activities for everyone!
Less than three months before the celebration of Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona 2020, the organization continues to work on the communication and to push for the registrations of the sporting events, to ensure the high participation – which they were already used to – in the festival, and make the appointment on the new dates a great success.

The test that traditionally opens the festival is the Eliminator, exhibition-type race, located in the Fox Racing Dirt Zone of the festival and that allows competing in a very spectacular and intense format for qualifying rounds until reaching the grand final. Agility and power!
Also the XCO Short track one of the latest modalities that have been incorporated into the MTB World Cups and that serve as an aperitif to XCO competitions. Pure speed!
Copa Catalana Internacional Biking Point/ Super Cup Massi, returns in the program as a permanent race of the festival calendar. Last year Sam Gaze was crowned for the second consecutive year as the great winner of this C1 event, a test that he himself recognized that he won’t forget. In females, it was the very young Laura Stigger who surprised all of us, arriving ahead of the festival’s ambassador, Pauline-Ferrand Prevot, no less than the current double world champion of XCO and Marathon.
The Scott Marathon Cup – UCI Marathon Series is one of the most popular events of the festival. A mountain bike race that runs through the incredible trails of the Girona region, giving cyclists the option to choose between two routes: 67KM 1,550M + / 42KM 750M +. In the last edition, Hans Becking was the current Dutch champion and the German Bettina Janas was the final winners. From world champions like Tiago Ferreira, to popular bikers, everyone wants to feel the Singletrack Territory.

A modality that in recent years has entered the cycling world. The prestigious Canyon Pirinexus Challenge is a 340 km circular non-stop personal challenge proposal to discover a cycling paradise. In addition, you can also enjoy gravel with the Etixx Girona Gravel Ride, a non-competitive test that offers two adventurous routes of 77 and 60 km to choose from. All accompanied by the exclusive jersey of the Sportful.
As always, and during Saturday lunchtime, the MTB Classic Sea Otter Europe will take place: where bikes from the 90s or earlier on meet in a retro atmosphere, with the owners authentically dressed in their cycling clothes of the time.
Downhill will also have its place at Sea Otter Europe with a Mini DH test. Perfect to unleash the adrenaline!
The ebike tests could not be missing in an event of this nature. More and more fans are opting for this type of bicycle and more brands that pushing strong in this direction, which has truly revolutionized and modernized the bike industry. The Miranda e-bike XCO is the event for those who want to put the maximum speed on their e-bike in a XCO format, and the Canyon e-mtb marathon, for those who want to feel the trails of Girona with complete peace of mind mood, thanks to the 27Km track that must be followed on GPS.
The Continental Ciclobrava and its new distance of 70km for those who start in cycling. Registrations open!
The Continental Ciclobrava is a cycle-sporting that runs along the most spectacular roads in the Girona region. One of the most incredible places to practice road cycling thanks to its varied landscapes and low traffic roads.
A cycling place where professionals live to train and have already located their first residence throughout the year.
Three options to choose from to live a spectacular day: 70Km, 100Km and 140Km. Each participant chooses their rhythm and enjoys their ideal distance. And you can also wear the magnificent exclusive Wear-Design jersey, which has created a special collection for the event, included in the registration.
A sports program to delight all bike lovers, and which definitely makes Sea Otter Europe an international cycling event and Girona the world capital of cycling.

Of course, activities for the youngest will also be present at Sea Otter Europe. The competition for the children’s MTB Open and the Young Short Track will make everyone participating enjoy it, in the different categories of sport.

Sea Otter Europe presented by Continental will have the largest DemoBike fleet within the current multidisciplinary cycling events in Europe. The Sea Otter Europe presented by Continental DemoBike event will have five test circuits marked and close to the event exhibition area; two for MTB, one for road, one for Gravel, and the Haibike loop for e-Bikes, located inside the enclosure. There will also be space for the urban bike test. Bikes can be booked from September, using the Book and Try reservation platform. More information coming soon.
