Sea-Otter-Europe-Girona

The Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show, to which entry is free, will take place from 2-4 June in Girona and feature activities for all members of the public as well as international media coverage

In a week’s time, Girona will become the European cycling capital with the first edition of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show, a free festival that opens its doors to everyone: the cycling industry, specialised companies, clubs, tourist destinations, professional athletes, amateur cyclists, fans, families, young people and children. There will be something for everyone thanks to Sea Otter Europe’s comprehensive line-up of sports events and activities, and approximately one hundred journalists from all over the world have been accredited to experience it first-hand and broadcast it around the globe.

On the one hand, at the centre of the festival will be the stands of 300 of the cycling world’s finest brands, which will be on hand to present their products and what’s new for next season to all visitors. Attendees will also have the chance to purchase official Sea Otter Europe merchandise, while the brands have also set up a Test Zone so that anyone interested in testing bikes can try out the model of their choice.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to walk through the Expo areas inside and outside the Fontajau Pavilion and check out the BMX, Dual Slalom, Trial, Eliminator and spectacular Big Jump exhibitions, to name a few. They will also be able to take part in a series of activities such as the Pedal Party and prove their abilities on the Pump Track, Pushbike Track and Wood Park Track. The festival has all the services necessary to have a great day with friends or family, as well as several dining areas.

The Fontajau Pavilion will also be the start and finish line for the numerous competitive and recreational sports events that will cross the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees, from international-level cycling competitions to non-competitive events. The line-up of sports activities holds something for everyone and all fitness levels, from amateurs to professionals, and even families with small children.

The events include, in MTB, the SCOTT Marathon by Taymory (46 or 54 km), the Ghost MTB Marathon (84 km), a non-competitive event that may also be ridden on an electric bike, and the Biking Point Girona International Catalan Cup, and, in road racing, the International No Limit Travel Cycle Tour by Ghost (80 or 125 km). Registration for all events will remain open on www.ticketoci.net.
