Sea Otter Europe gears up to offer places at its expo zone for the 2021 edition
45% of the expo zone has already been snapped up with a total of 85 confirmed brands. The price per m2 is unchanged.
A week ago we announced the new dates for the European cycling festival, which will take place from 24 to 26 September, 2021.
Looking back on 2019, the figures are astonishing: a total of 60,000 visitors; 420 exhibiting brands; 500 different types of bikes, including MTB, gravel, road and, above all, electric (72% of the demo fleet), and excellent circuits created especially for testing each one of them. Last but not least, over 6,000 participants took part in the sporting events from over 50 different countries. For the 2021 edition, Sea Otter Europe continues with growth forecast for all its areas.
Once again, the organisers would like to thank the festival’s sponsors: Girona Costa Brava, Ajuntament de Girona, Diputació de Girona, Turisme de Catalunya, as well as Continental, Canyon, Wear Design and Cetelem for their unconditional support of the festival, and for joining us on this exciting European journey.
The Sea Otter Europe team already has one eye on the 2021 edition, so we’d therefore like to bring you up to date with the latest news.
A new booking system will make reserving a place at Sea Otter Europe’s expo zone even easier
The new digitised and interactive booking system offers multiple benefits for customers, focusing on the ease and speed of expo zone bookings. Firstly, the system offers greater visibility for brands through the website, with a self-updating and interactive profile to reach out to the entire Sea Otter People community (from product launches to stand promotions). Secondly, choice of location is instantaneous (the customer pays, knowing exactly what location they are getting). Thirdly, the booking process is over in three minutes (the customers pays for their space, receives the invoice, and gets all the necessary information so that nothing else needs to be done). And, finally, extra and optional services, available during the booking process, have been expanded. The festival is committed to helping customers deal with the logistical side of things so that the brand can focus on the most important thing, which is their presence at the festival, and we’ll deal with the rest.
Finally, given the current and foreseeable situation, and in addition to the festival’s commitment to the exhibiting brands, a full refund will be made should the event be cancelled. On the other hand, the price per square metre will remain the same.
The expo zone is available for booking for new brands from 9 February, 2021
The priority booking system for brands will work as follows on the following dates. The calendar is similar to in previous editions, but has been adapted due to the current situation caused by COVID-19.
- STAGE 1. From 8 December, 2020: sponsor brands and confirmed brands will be allocated a space in the expo zone.
- STAGE 2. From 9 February, 2021: new brands can book a place in the expo zone.
45% of the expo zone has already been snapped up with a total of 85 brands confirmed for the 2021 edition.
The festival continues with the same goal: to be Europe’s leading bike show and cycling festival.
ABOUT SEA OTTER EUROPE
Sea Otter Europe is Europe’s leading cycling festival and takes place in the city of Girona, on 24, 25 and 26 September, 2021.
Despite having only been running for several years, the festival has managed to achieve outstanding figures: 60,000 visitors, over 6,000 participants in sporting events and a total of over 350 exhibiting brands, according to last year’s numbers.
Sea Otter Europe is gearing up for its fourth edition with an extensive sports programme boasting competitions for professionals and amateurs, an expo zone with the best brands on the market, demo circuits that are perfect for enjoyment and test riding bikes, and a host of activities dedicated exclusively to professionals.
The festival is gaining worldwide recognition in the industry and among cycling enthusiasts: in just four editions it has managed to become a must-visit and essential meeting point for the cycling community.
The origins and inspiration for Sea Otter Europe can be traced back to Sea Otter Classic, one of the largest cycling festivals on the planet, which has been held each year since 1991 in Laguna Seca in California and has never ceased to grow and evolve. Without a doubt, Sea Otter Classic is the benchmark cycling event in the USA, with over 30 years of history, and a meeting place for the entire international cycling industry and enthusiasts, covering competitions, general cycling and lifestyle.
The high quality of life offered by Girona and the Costa Brava make it a perfect location for cycling fans: 1) safe B-roads, 2) a warm climate for all-year-round training, 3) healthy Mediterranean cuisine, and 4) a location close to the sea and the Pyrenees for a full workout.
Professional cyclists such as Tyler Hamilton, Levi Leipheimer, David Millar, Robert Gesink, Kittel, Van Garderen, Woods, De la Cruz, Benett, Stuyven, Yates and Samuel Gaze have all lived or are currently living in the city of Girona or Girona province.
