Shimano Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Garmin is preparing for its biggest edition ever. 74,000 people visited the cycling festival last year.
Shimano Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Garmin will once again be the international cycling capital during the upcoming September 18, 19, and 20. The festival’s established success attracts more visitors each year, who show interest in the enormous range of options to enjoy both the exhibition area and the sporting events, family activities, and leisure zones. The tenth edition promises to be the biggest ever, reinforcing the festival’s international positioning and aiming to confirm the upward trend indicated by all indicators.
An exhibition area with more than 500 brands
This is one of Sea Otter Europe’s biggest draws. The exterior of the Fontajau Pavilion comes alive with a colorful venue full of brands. The exhibition area translates into a large cycling showcase where attendees can stroll through the festival’s long aisles, see the latest brand innovations, discover new products, and get a close look at bicycles, accessories, components, nutrition products, and other industry items.
The festival has seen significant growth compared to last year, expanding the exhibition area by 10%. In total, 97% of the exhibitor space is already reserved, which represents an increase in bookings compared to the same period last year.
Top-level competition and leisure rides: the sports program for everyone
Another of the festival’s great distinguishing features is the enormous sports program that complements all the fair activity. Thus, visitors can also take part in sporting events. A wide range of options led by the 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series and the Cross Country Marathon (XCM) World Cup, the top-category races in both disciplines, which bring together the best specialists on the planet.
On the other hand, the Ciclobrava by Lapierre is the most massive event of all, the road cycling tour that connects the city of Girona with the Costa Brava. The Continental Gravel Ride Tour, the SCOTT Marathon Cup, Shimano Super Cup Massi, the Super Cup Youth, the Spanish XCE Championship, and competitions in other disciplines complete the sports lineup.
Demobike: try your future bike for free
One of the most popular activities is the Demobike. Visitors can reserve the models they want to try for free; a unique opportunity to test bikes on specially designed circuits before making a purchase decision.
Last year, a record number of over 4,600 Demobike reservations were made.
Activities for the whole family
One of the festival’s greatest successes lies in its festive and family-friendly nature. Thus, the little ones also find a safe space to have fun, participate in games in the exhibition area, be part of the sports program, as well as those activities specifically designed for them.
Space for relaxation and comfort
The festival also includes zones and activities for comfort, such as food truck areas with a wide gastronomic offering, music, and other activities.
